2015 Russian River Valley Sauvignon Blanc
Aroma: Gooseberry & lime
Palate: Passion fruit & Citrus
Finish: Bright, clean, with balanced minerality

Winemaker's Comments:
The beautiful Russian River Valley enjoys warm days, with cool fog rolling in each morning and evening from the nearby Pacific Ocean, creating the ideal cool-climate environment for high acidity and bursts of fruit flavor in a Sauvignon Blanc. While floral aromas, gooseberry and lime linger on the nose, your palate will delight in the gracious tang of pasion fruit and citrus. Hints of tropical fruit and lemongrass complete the smooth, clean finish, leaving you refreshed and ready for the next sip of this friendly wine. I love this wine with a goat cheese crostini or herb-marinated olives alongside a scrumptious grilled chicken with roasted garlic cloves and lemon, or try it with a homemade pizza topped with feta cheese, sliced fresh figs and prosciutto. Either way, it will be unforgettable!

Sauvignon Blanc:
Sauvignon Blanc is widely grown in California - at over 15,000 acres, it's now the third most planted variety - and often assumes the moniker 'Fume Blanc'. This popular synonym, credited to Napa's Robert Mondavi, derives from the grape's historic home of Pouilly in France's Upper Loire Valley, where Sauvignon Blanc is the dominant varietal and goes locally by the name of 'Blanc Fume'. When treated with respect and afforded suitable growing conditions, Sauvignon Blanc is one of the wine world's darlings. Steely, racy acidity, green, gooseberry fruit, asparagus and a grassy, herbaceous character characterize dry wines made from this grape.
